Stone Paxton started in music as a teenager and has worked on stage and in the studio ever since: as a lead vocalist, songwriter, producer, guitarist and bassist. He played with Rick James’ Stone City Band, the funk band that backed James on Motown, and he has recorded and performed with veteran R&B artists including Allen McNeil of the R&B group Troop.
Today he records and releases his own music from Las Vegas. His songs carry classic funk and old-school R&B into the present, with storytelling lyrics and grooves that honor influences such as Rick James, Parliament and Prince. Independent music press outlet SoulTracks has featured his releases in its First Listen series several times since 2023.
Every release below is listed on Stone Paxton’s official Apple Music artist page.
Stone writes, produces and plays on his own records. On his 2025 single “Can We Get It Right,” released on Gumbfactory Music, he wrote the lyrics and co-produced the track with Dre Hendrix. He has written and produced songs that charted in the United States and the United Kingdom.
That hands-on studio experience shapes how Brand Artist Coalition works with artists: release-ready production, a catalog of beats through our production plans, and honest guidance on what it takes to put out a professional record.
Every great artist started out independent: writing in a bedroom, recording on a phone, believing in a sound nobody else had heard yet. Stone’s vision is simple. Talent should not depend on who you know. Independent artists of every genre deserve affordable distribution, real industry exposure and a fair shot at a record deal, with no gatekeepers and no genre limits.
After decades on every side of the music business, Stone saw how hard it is for talented independent artists to get their music heard. He founded Brand Artist Coalition as an affordable music distribution service with simple, low-cost pricing, backed by a team of industry veterans who have lived the same journey.
Stone personally leads Brand Artist Coalition’s artist discovery program. Artists can submit a 30 second demo video for a chance to be noticed by record labels, producers and industry professionals. Submitting a demo is an opportunity to be considered. It is not a guaranteed recording contract or record deal.
As Founder and CEO, Stone leads a team of music industry professionals, including Allen McNeil, VP of West Coast Operations, and Rufus Blaq, who heads artist intake and signing. Together they run BAC’s core services:
